 Our Founder

Founder and Director Elaine Armstrong has over 17 years international industry experience combined with a lifelong passion for communication through music.

As an Oxford music graduate and talented violinist, Elaine joined IMG Artists in 2004 and successfully worked for a large roster of their most prestigious clients including Joshua Bell, Hilary Hahn and Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider amongst others.  From 2010 Elaine undertook the role of Artistic Manager of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, which involved managing a diverse array of responsibilities from engaging international conductors/soloists, to undertaking the role of producer for many of the orchestra’s more unconventional programmes involving screen and special lighting, commercial concerts and opera-in-concert.

In 2013 Elaine had the opportunity to become the General Manager of international superstar violinist Nicola Benedetti and this led to the launch of Emblem Artists. Through dedicated personal management, Nicola enjoyed pinnacle career moments making debuts and building relationships with the worlds most prestigious orchestras festivals and venues. In 2013, Nicola Won ‘Best Female Artist’ at the Classical BRIT Awards, and her album ’Scottish Fantasy’ reached No.1 of the UK Pop and Classical charts. Emblem Artists was also instrumental in the entire commissioning process of Wynton Marsalis’ Violin Concerto, a work, which is highly sought after worldwide.

In 2015, Emblem Artists moved its operations to Melbourne, and it now exists to support the careers of major Australian and international classical musicians in Australasia. All of Emblem Artists’ clients enjoy great accolade and acclaim; Umberto Clerici has recently been appointed as the Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s Chief Conductor, Amy Dickson and Jayson Gillham are regular/annual nominees at the ARIA Awards; Grace Clifford won the ABC Young Performer of the Year Award and is recognised as one of Australia’s youngest and finest violinists and Konstantin Shamray won Sydney International Piano Competition and numerous other awards in Europe.

I’m completely passionate about Emblem Artists because of what it does, because I love what I do and I feel so lucky to work with such talented clients who are world class.
— Elaine Armstrong, Founder
